Cameroon Protection Update - Far North

The Protection Cluster in Cameroon recently published its monthly protection update for the Far North region.

As of February 2022, protection monitors recorded 45 incursions and attacks by non-state armed groups including attacks on military posts but also attacks on villages directly affecting the civilian population. In February, a total of 595 protection incidents were reported by protection monitors, the vast majority of which remain theft and destruction of personal property.

The Protection Cluster calls for greater support to fund the Protection Sector’s emergency response to respond to the crisis in Logone Birni and to support a holistic response to the situation of food insecurity including mitigation and response to protection risks.
